Simon brings a wide scope of experience in both management and the integration of analytics into organizations and businesses. He received his BSc (Hons) degree from Melbourne and a Ph.D. in Statistics from La Trobe. Currently Simon is Professor and Head of the Statistics Department at Texas A&M University. Previously he was a faculty member at the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of New South Wales.
Simon has over 20 years of experience applying analytics and statistical methods in business. His clients included banks, biotechnology, hospitality service companies, fashion, transportation, real estate, consumer products adn government. During this time he published over 65 papers and 2 books. He is listed on the ISIHighlyCited.com website among the top one-half of one percent of all mathematical scientists for citations of published work.
Edward has over 30 years of leadership experience managing, advising and applying business analytics and quality improvement methods in a wide variety of organizations, including Chevron, IBM, Motorola, Texas Instruments and Bell Northern. As Vice President, Edward's focus is on building data-driven organizations by providing them resources for harnessing data and analytics into actionable decisions.
Previously Edward was co-founder and Vice President of Jones Reilly & Associates, Inc. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, JRA provided training and consulting on the implementation of process improvement systems. He was also an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Currently Edward also holds an appointment as Executive Professor and Director of Statistical Consulting at Texas A&M University. He served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Naval Air Warfare Center, and received the Distinguished Speaker Award from the Society of Automotive Engineers. Edward received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Texas A&M University - Commerce, and completed his honors thesis at the Argonne National Laboratory. He earned his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech and completed his dissertation research at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory while working under Dr. Toby Mitchel.
Michael Speed brings a broad scope of experience in technology, analytics and distance education. As Chief Scientist Michael mentors the team responsible for designing and implementing the training and consulting services at Texas A&M Statistical Services.
Recently Michael retired from his position as Professor of Statistics at Texas A&M Univeristy where he taught analytics and data mining. Professor Speed was also Founder and Director of Online Programs in the College of Science. Today, the program he created is nationally recognized as the largest and most effective distance education program for earning a Masters Degree in Statistics.
Professor Speed is both a scientist and successful businessman. He earned his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University while working part time as scientist at NASA. Professor Speed is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and has received numerous awards for his research and contributions in statistics, including the H.O. Hartley Award, the Shewell Award, the Jack Youden Prize and the W.S. Conner Award.
As a businessman Michael founded and managed several successful and profitable companies in several industries, including oil and gas production, ranching, commercial real estate, and gulf shrimping.
